Verify at the source.Directory summaries, including this one, are a starting point rather than the record. Before you change what you stock or how you ship, confirm the rule on the issuing agency’s own site: your state’s revenue or health department for licensing and taxes, the FDA for product authorizations, and the ATF for PACT Act registration. Every jurisdiction page here links its own tax agency.
Put renewals on a calendar. Most compliance failures are not exotic. They are a tobacco licence that lapsed or a monthly report that did not go out. Calendar every renewal and reporting deadline the day you receive the licence, and assign each one to a named person rather than to the shop.
Watch flavour legislation specifically. Flavour restrictions move faster than any other category of state law and are the most likely to strand inventory you have already paid for. Before placing a large flavoured-product order, check the current status on the jurisdiction pages above for everywhere you sell or ship into, and review pending bills in those jurisdictions each quarter.
