Kratom Status
21+ regulatedRegulated: SB 1108 (2023) put kratom under the Virginia Consumer Protection Act, and HB 360 (2026, ch. 595) prohibits sales to anyone under 21, requires ingredient labeling and a disclosure, and requires kratom to be stored behind a counter or in a locked display case. It also bars synthesized and semi-synthetic kratom, products over 1 percent 7-hydroxymitragynine of total alkaloids or over 1 milligram per serving, combustible, vaporizable or injectable kratom, and packaging marketed in a manner attractive to children. Enforced by the Attorney General.
